I reserved judgment on Cecil Augustus Downing's posts until I had anatomized his work.although I take issue with his vegetarianism, opinion of my father and statements regarding the above image (assuredly, this is a most unfortunate coincidence), he ably discharged his task. Mr. Downing exhibits a sentimentality which tempers the tone of my posts, softening the haughty impression most have of Nebraskashire Gentry.
