to commemorate this, my 100th entry, I proffer not the usual commentary. today I provide something more personal. the photograph above pictures your correspondents. all play a game popular among Italians and geriatrics. most clad in short pants--the regrettable accoutrement of summertime leisure. few know the rules nor recognize how ridiculous they appear. none are much bothered.
